Pool Haus

A pool house that establishes itself a frame for peaceful outdoor living.

This modern pool house creates a dialog with itself across the pool water. On one side is a solid volume, clad in wood shakes with biophilic elements such as creeping jasmine vines along the top surrounding a rooftop deck. This portion of the project contains an indoor/outdoor kitchen & dining space, bathroom, and changing rooms.

Mirrored along the axis of the pool on the other side is an expressed structured frame, the opposing object to a solid volume. This structured frame has a glass box office/studio for the client and is surrounded by a breezy shaded outdoor gathering space alongside the pool.

This composition of the lightly structured darker frame and the heavier solid lightly clad elements creates a wonderful dialog across the reflecting pool water.
